The ultimate guide to the ACCURA QUBE Series II

This guide explains everything you need to know about the ACCURA QUBE Series II.

An overview of the ACCURA QUBE Tyre Inflator

The user-friendly ACCURA QUBE electronic pre-set unit offers superb value and fast, accurate air and nitrogen (N2) inflation.

This space-saving fixed indoor inflator made from high performance engineering plastic has the ability to inflate up to 174 psi (12 bar) and is ideal for garages, dealerships, car hire, roadside assistance vehicles, MOT centres and factories; where inflation and deflation with repeatable accuracy and ease of use are essential.

The pre-set function enables the operator to carry out other tasks during the inflation/deflation process. All the customer needs to do is pre-set the required pressure, place the connector on the tyre, and let the inbuilt auto-start function do the rest.

Once the desire pressure is reached, you’ll hear an audible beep and the light on top of the unit will flash for as long as the connector is attached the tyre valve.

The ACCURA QUBE can be easily switched between three applications modes:

Standard (STD)
For automatic inflation and deflation

Tyreshop (TIR)
Overinflates the tyre for bead seating and adjusts to correct the correct tyre inflation afterwards.

Nitrogen Purge mode (N2P)
Nitrogen purging is an industry standard technique for eliminating unwanted gases and other impurities and replacing with an inert dry atmosphere.

During the start-up procedure initiation the current application is always shown. More information on how to switch between the three modes can be found later in the article.

In short, PCL’s ACCURA QUBE will save you time and money by providing accuracy, increased efficiency, uptime, and safety, whilst reducing effort and fatigue associated with inflating large, high-pressure tyres from flat.

What are the product options?

QUBE6
QUBE6 Standard ACCURA QUBE without hose or plug

The Standard ACCURA QUBE is available in 12v, 120v or 230v models, with or without a 5 m / 16 ft hose and Euro Clip-on Connector and different plugs to suit the UK, EU, US and Australian markets.

The QUBE6 comes without a plug and hose, this model is recommended for mobile tyre service providers.

4 Pre-set Button Model

An additional 4 pre-set button module allows common pressures to be set quickly, speeding up straight-forward processes in workshops, garages and factories. All the customer needs to do is pre-set the required pressure, place the connector on the tyre, and let the inbuilt auto-start function do the rest.

Bluetooth enabled Model

The Bluetooth Enabled ACCURA QUBE has been designed to connect to the new PCL Workshop Connect App, operators of this model can build a database of inflation data through the apps reporting mechanism - each inflation is recorded and downloaded as PDF and CSV file.

Ideal for HGV roadside tyre maintenance, the Bluetooth enabled model featured a 15-metre operating range, allowing the operator to keep out of harm's way in case of tyre failure during inflation.

Bespoke solutions

Bespoke QUBE solution - NTDA Innovation Award Finalist

The versatility of the ACCURA QUBE allows PCL to develop bespoke solutions.

In conjunction with leading tyre manufacturers, PCL developed a bespoke version of the QUBE, designed to provide safety in truck and bus tyre inflation.

Research found that a large proportion of truck tyre failures occur within 5 minutes of completing the initial inflation, therefore the bespoke QUBE with safety software programme features a 5-minute countdown timer with a solid red light that flashes when the 5 minutes is complete, this allows the fitter to deflate the tyre to a safe pressure quickly from the machine without having to approach a potentially dangerous tyre itself.

How to use the ACCURA QUBE

This video demonstrates the Standard (STD), Tyreshop / OPS (TIR) and Nitrogen Purge (N2P) modes in action.

On plugging in the unit for the first time, the QUBE will automatically start in Standard (Std) Operation. However, if the Tyre Shop (tir) or Nitrogen (N2P) Operation are required, then follow the Application Mode Selection. The QUBE will reboot into the desired application and will remain in this mode until an alternative mode is selected with Application Mode Selection.
